The path through the memorial garden
What do I do first when someone dies?

If they were under hospice care, call the hospice nurse. If the death was unexpected, call 911. Then call us, any hour, and we will guide you from there.

Is embalming required?

Under the FTC Funeral Rule, embalming is not required by law except in certain special cases. We will explain your choices, including services without it.

Can I see your prices before I decide?

Yes. Our starting prices and full price list are on our Prices page, and every price is in writing before you decide anything.

Can I use a casket or urn bought elsewhere?

Yes. The FTC Funeral Rule lets you use a casket or urn bought elsewhere, and we will not charge a fee for it.

What is the difference between a funeral and a memorial service?

A funeral usually takes place with the body present. A memorial service is held without it, often after cremation.

Can we have a service with cremation?

Yes. Many families have a visitation or a full service first, followed by cremation, or a memorial service afterwards.

Are military honors available?

Eligible veterans may receive military funeral honors at no cost: the folding and presenting of the flag and the playing of Taps. We request them for you.

Can family who can't travel watch the service?

Yes. We can webcast the service to a private link, and the recording is yours to keep.

How do I plan my own funeral ahead of time?

Start with the short form on our Plan Ahead page. A licensed director will follow up when it suits you.

What if the death happens out of town?

Call us. We can arrange to bring your loved one home from anywhere.
